Nasser Deeb
PRESIDENT Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in the events industry, Nasser Deeb has been instrumental in developing successful event and trade platforms across various sectors including technology, healthcare, construction, automotive, lifestyle, and oil & gas. Renowned for his integrity and expertise, After a flourishing career in the Middle East, Nasser made a pivotal move to Canada in 2012, leading international market development and pioneering new events for Informa Exhibitions, the world's largest trade show organizer with a global footprint spanning 6 continents. In early 2017, Nasser established THE EXPO HUT in Toronto, offering his specialized knowledge to major exhibition organizers in North America. He conceptualized the creation of a trade platform for the Halal lifestyle industry in North America, aimed at elevating standards and fostering awareness of Muslim livelihoods in Canada through his adept organization of professional trade shows. Presently, Nasser is focused on launching Halal Expo Philippines in November 2024, with DTI as a strategic principal partner. A graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi in marketing management, Nasser is Certified in Exhibition Management by IAEE –USA (International Association of Exhibitions and Events). In recognition of his significant contributions, Nasser Deeb was honored as one of Canada's most influential event professionals by BIZBASH in 2021. |
Syed Thamim
SHOW DIRECTOR Syed Thamim Ahmed is a CEM-certified Project Director with 20 years of experience in fast-paced environments. His expertise spans Exhibition Space Sales, Visitor Promotion, Brand Building, Product Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Online Communities. Syed has held key roles at Aurum Jewels Limited, UBM India, and Zak Trade Fairs, where he developed and executed strategies for sales, marketing, and customer retention. He holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Management and a Certification in Exhibition Management from IAEE, USA. Syed is adept at managing multidisciplinary teams and has proven competencies in budgeting, forecasting, project planning, and customer management. |
Grace Aguilar
Director, Operations Grace Aguilar had spent the last 15 years managing events, marketing and hospitality projects and in 2006 launched her own integrated marketing and exhibition solution company in Dubai to seek vent to her expertise, skills and true passion. Her mission for this venture is to continue offering unique trade show solutions and creating the ideal platform for the Halal Lifestyle Industry in Canada. Grace is a graduate from the School of Management of Philippine Women's University specialized in Hotel, Restaurants and Food Technology Management and active member of International Association of Exhibitions and Events. |
Maysoun Deeb
Marketing Manager Maysoun is a Marketing Management graduate from Sheridan College with over six years of experience in event and marketing management. Before joining The Expo Hut in 2018, she gained hands-on experience by volunteering in the events industry, developing a strong foundation in event planning, audience engagement, and brand promotion. As a key member of The Expo Hut, Maysoun leads marketing strategies for Halal Expo Canada, StoneTech Canada, Kitchen+Bath Canada, and Halal Expo Philippines. She specializes in brand positioning, audience development, social media strategy, content creation, and sponsorship promotion. In addition to her marketing expertise, she has successfully executed conference programs, coordinating speakers and panel discussions to enhance the educational value of each event. With a deep understanding of B2B trade shows, she is committed to driving exhibitor success, elevating attendee experiences, and expanding industry connections. Project Coordinator- Philippines Chloe is a dedicated Project Coordinator at Halal Expo Philippines, bringing a wealth of experience and a keen eye for detail to every project. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Makati, she has honed her skills in the corporate sector, particularly during her tenure at Canon Information Technology as an HR Compensation and Benefits and Admin Staff. Yiling Zhang
Project Manager After a successful career in handling corporate migration projects in China, Yiling moved to Canada in 2014 to pursue a further education and new career. Starting as a volunteer and part-time on the Buildings Show in 2014, she joined Informa Exhibition in Toronto as International Project Coordinator to be part the successful development of the International market segment and STONEX Canada part of The Buildings Show after completing her educations. In January 2018 Yiling joined THE EXPO HUT as the Sales and Project Coordinator for a local and International portfolio of Events. With her rich experience in coordination and communication skills, she maintains good relationships and smooth communications between customers, event contractors and event cooperative partners, who together bring our shows to be held successful. Additionally, she has spent five years as an entrepreneur, where her exceptional character and strong social skills were instrumental in expanding her business and community network, particularly within the Halal industry in the Philippines. |
Gilbert Andres Aquino
SENIOR Graphic designer Gilbert is a seasoned design professional with over 20 years of experience in visual storytelling, brand development, and marketing design. With a background in Computer Graphics from Informatics Manila, he combines technical skill with creative vision to craft designs that communicate clearly and effectively. Since joining The Expo Hut, Gilbert has played an essential role in shaping the visual identity of Halal Expo Canada, StoneTech Canada, Kitchen+Bath Canada, and Halal Expo Philippines. From print collateral to digital assets, exhibitor materials to social media graphics, he ensures each piece reflects the brand's message and audience. Known for his versatility, Gilbert works across multiple platforms, using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Figma to produce compelling visuals for both print and digital campaigns. His work is driven by a thoughtful design approach and a commitment to consistency, clarity, and creative impact. With a strong understanding of B2B trade show marketing, Gilbert brings depth, precision, and creativity to every project — making sure each event not only looks good but feels cohesive and memorable. |

Dr. Hamid Slimi
Chairman and Senior Lecturer of the Canadian Centre for Deen Studies and Chairman of the Conference Advisory Committee - Halal Expo Canada Dr. Hamid Slimi is an Academic scholar, a spiritual leader, a teacher and a Community Developer. He is: the current chairman and senior lecturer of the Canadian Centre for Deen Studies (a Muslim Theological Seminary for educating and training future Imams and chaplains). He is also the Founder and President of Faith of Life Network (A Charitable organization focused on providing spiritual and educational programs as well as bridge building with other faiths for peace building and harmony) and Board member of different Interfaith and Community bodies/groups, TV Producer of Faith of Life TV Shows, videos and documentaries and CEO of a Management and Marketing Solutions Business in Ontario. In addition to the traditional degrees known as Ijazah, he holds two Masters degrees with High Honors in both disciplines from Morocco and the US and a PhD in Islamic Law from the U.K. He received both his traditional and academic learning in Morocco and attended other renowned institutions and universities in other parts of the world. From 2009 till 2018, Dr. Slimi has been featured by Georgetown University as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World for his community development and building as well as his spiritual leadership and interfaith work. |
